The 2013 Seahorse Camp kicked off this afternoon, welcoming around 45 campers and 15 counselors to the grounds of Lakewood Yacht Club. As campers poured in throughout the afternoon and set up home within the club, counselors, coaches, and volunteers alike worked to divide the kids up for the next morning's sailing activities.
To officially commence Seahorse Camp, head of this year's festivities, Jill Hughes, talked to the campers about the coming week, and introduced them to each counselor. After, the group headed for a hamburger dinner, their first meal spent together. Campers were then allowed to swim and unpack more, while others took to the volleyball net in the grass. After hours of fun, the group reconvened to play icebreakers and get to know each other. As night rolled in, campers went to bed at around 10 to ensure they'd be well rested for the long day of sailing ahead of them.
